International Background & Business Experience
Of Swedish origin, my international background has allowed me to gain a unique perspective spending 30+ years working and living in different countries, including the US, UK, France, Belgium, and now Spain (and I now coach in all 4 languages).
My business experience includes holding senior-level management positions in major global organizations before deciding to focus on Organizational and Executive Leadership and Personal Transformation.
Being part of the leadership team and deeply involved in various aspects of strategic development, B-2-B marketing and operations, change management was a big part of my work and despite all the efforts and resources poured into successful implementations, I started to question: We seemed to be missing a critical component that we weren’t working with.
The Journey to Coaching & Transformation
In 2006 I was introduced to coaching and a whole new world opened up for me.
I realized that if we have a deeper understanding of the human aspect in the change process, meaning making the intangible visible and understanding how we function during change and transition, we have far better business results. Humanizing an organization makes it more successful and the role of leadership is key. We have all experienced the effect of both good and bad leadership and the ultimate effect on the bottom line.
I made the choice to leave my job and fully dedicate myself to coaching and team development. I certified as an ontological coach and later as a somatic coach, working with all aspects of a human being going through change. Most people are familiar with intellectual intelligence and emotional intelligence, but there’s a third aspect, our physical intelligence that is very powerful in any transformational work – you can’t think yourself into being a good leader, you have to fully embody the change.
Along with the certifications came my own personal transformation, particularly through somatics and I continue to explore and improve both professionally and personally. It’s a never-ending field of learning.
Leadership Lessons from the Stable
Training classical dressage is also a source of experience and inspiration for me. Horses give me immediate feedback in their willingness to engage and follow. It’s an indication of my level of presence and leadership in the moment.
They continuously make me question myself and, through them, I learn to work with my challenges, which ultimately leads to improvement, satisfaction and fulfillment. It requires great self-awareness to be a good rider, just as it does for any other kind of leadership. Horses will not follow if they don´t consider you to be a leader.
